Has anyone been able to dertermine what is at the center of supernova remnant 1987A?

Despite intensive searches, no object has been found to date at the center of SN 1987A. This could be because the pulsar is not pointed in our direction, or because a black hole was formed that is quiescent because there is no matter available for it to accrete, or ....
