Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 5 November 1999 9.00am EST

During the last 48 hours Chandra passed through the radiation belts and performed the associated ACIS CTI measurements, and completed ACIS observations of the Coma cluster, Mkn 421, Vega and GS 2000+25.

The mission schedule and loads for the next week were completed are in final review. The schedule will begin at 6pm 11/6 and continue through 11.30 pm 11/13. This load includes the first luna eclipse on 11/8. The eclipse will last approximately 20 minutes and be handled by the load in the same way as the medium eclipses during the last earth eclipse season.

Over the weekend, Chandra will complete observations of A2390, G21.5-0.9 and NGC 4321 with ACIS, pass through the radiation belts with the CTI measurements, and begin a long observation of Procyon with HRC-S and the LETG.

The spacecraft systems continued to operate nominally.
