Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 24 November 2000 6.00pm EST

Happy Thanksgiving from the Chandra Team!

During the last week, Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

Real-time procedures were completed to insert and then retract the LETG for the Target Of Opportunity Aql X-1 observation on Saturday 18 Nov. Both the insertion and retraction were nominal.

The Aspect Camera Dark Current Calibration procedure was run on 20 November during a 5 hour communications pass. This is the first time the procedure has been completed since the dark current calibration was measured prior to Sun Shade Door opening, and will provide a valuable data set for monitoring the ACA performance. Initial assessment indicates that all five data sets taken during the procedure have no gaps, and will provide a solid baseline.

The planned observations for the coming week are as follows.
