Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 11 September 2015 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A real-time procedure was executed on Sep 8 to patch both OBCs to provide the capability for commandable image status filter in ACA data processing. This capability will be used in normal operations to improve the reliability of ACA star acquisition. Another real-time procedure was executed on Sep 9 to demonstrate the feasibility of annealing ACA CCD warm pixels while guiding on the bright stars of the Pleiades cluster.

Additional real-time procedures were executed on Sep 9-10 to dump OBC-A and OBC-B memory as a follow-up to the patches. The dump will be used to update the baseline memory image maintained on the ground.

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of SNhunt275, a follow-up of a Director's Discretionary Time Target of Opportunity that was approved on May 26.
