Operations CXO Status Report

Friday 26 April 2024 9.00am EDT

During the last week Chandra completed the observing schedule as planned.

A Chandra image release was issued on Apr 24 describing time-lapse movies of the Crab Nebula and Cassiopeia A supernova remnants. Each movie includes X-ray data collected by Chandra over about two decades. They show dramatic changes in the debris and radiation remaining after the explosion of two massive stars in our galaxy. For details, see: https://chandra.harvard.edu/photo/2024/timelapse/

The schedule of targets for the next week is shown below and includes an observation of TW Hya coordinated with HST and JWST.
