Hydra A is a bright galaxy positioned beside two stars which are quite close together.
To star-hop to this object, you can use the heart of Hydra as a guide. Connect the imaginary line between HR 3845 and Alphard and aim your telescope on an extension one-third again of that line. Remember, the R.A. and Dec of this object is: Right Ascension 09h18m06s, Declination -12°05', if you prefer to use setting circles.
