Still Images from 3D Visualizations
These six visualizations represent work to explore rich datasets from powerful telescopes, like Chandra, by developing three-dimensional simulations. These visualizations can help astronomers learn about the geometry, velocity, and other physical properties of each of these cosmic sources. Snap shots of the objects in this collection are shown here, from left to right: protostar jets representing DG Tau, the supernova remnant Cassiopeia A, the nova named U Scorpii, and supernova explosions and their remnants SN 1006, SN 1987A, and Tycho.
